Air services at Cochin airport increased to meet demand

The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has increased the services from the airport in response to an increase in the number of domestic passengers.

The summer schedule brought out had around 1,628 weekly services, to which CIAL has introduced around 60 additional services. This summer schedule, which commenced from March 31, 2024, saw an increase in the number of weekly services from 1,330 to 1,628. Passenger traffic which earlier saw a ratio of 45:55 for domestic and international passengers, now has witnessed a switch, with the domestic passengers currently accounting for around 55 per cent of the total passengers. The airport witnessed a record number of passengers in 2023-24, with more than 10.53 million passengers flying to and from various destinations. The number of domestic passengers is expected to witness a 20 per cent increase in the current fiscal year.
