FMDA starts implementation of online monitoring system to control water leakages

The Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) has started to implement an online monitoring system to control leakage and wastage of drinking water. There is a shortage of more than 125 million litres per pay of water in Faridabad at present. FMDA is examining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition which was earlier introduced by the Municipal Corporation Faridabad and the Faridabad Smart City Limited. This system is also expected to improve the efficiency of the water network since an estimated 20 to 25 per cent of water is lost due to faults in the network. It would also ensure continuous supervision.
