The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation has recently commenced survey operations for the proposed metro project in Bhubaneswar, covering the stretch from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan Square. The envisioned metro system will span 26 kms, linking Bhubaneswar Airport to Trishulia in Cuttack, with an estimated budget of Rs 80 billion. Elevated tracks will be constructed, supported by 450 pillars. The initial phase of the project will consist of stations: Master Canteen, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Patia, and Nandankanan.
