Indian Railways (IR) has registered passenger traffic of 411.6 million from April 1, 2024 to April 21, 2024. This includes 136.9 million passengers travelling on April 20 and April 21, 2024. To manage this increased demand, IR is operating a total of 9,111 trips across India during this summer season, which is 2,742 trips more than last summer. Zone wise trips planned comprises of 488 for Central Railway (CR), 254 for Eastern Railway (ER), 1,003 for East Central Railway (ECR), 102 for East Coast Railway (ECoR), 142 for North Central Railway (NCR), 1,012 for South Central Railway (SCR), 1,878 for Western Railway (WR), 1,623 for North Western Railway (NWR) among others.
