Vande Bharat train service has registered cumulative passenger traffic of over 20 million since its launch from February 15, 2019 to March 31, 2024. Currently, a total of 102 Vande Bharat trains are functioning on 100 routes. Besides, Central Railway (CR) is setting up a maintenance unit for Vande Bharat sleeper trains at Wadi Budner, Maharashtra with an investment of Rs 2.53 billion. It is planned to be completed by 2026. Further, it will have several amenities which includes automated inspection system, two pit lines, updated infrastructure among others.
