The construction work on the Bareilly sewerage [interception and diversion (I&D) and sewage treatment plants (STP)] project has been completed in Uttar Pradesh under the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). The first trial run for the project has also been completed. The STPs are likely to be connected to the drains by June 2024. The scope of work involved the development of a 42 million litres per day (mld) capacity STP near Bisalpur road, 20 mld STP near Chaubari Nala, one mld STP near Air Force Nala, construction of three main pumping stations of capacities 42 mld, 20 mld and 1 mld, one lifting station of 12.52 mld and 15 I&D structures and laying of 16,391 m of sewer lines and 120 m of rising main at cost of Rs 2.72 million.
