BWSSB revives Kengeri Lake by filling it with treated wastewater

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has revived the Kengeri Lake by filling it with treated wastewater. The lake had recently dried up due to absence of rainfall in Bengaluru and is among the 15 lakes that have been recharged. BWSSB has given a public disclaimer to not use the water for potable purposes and further plans to recharge five more lakes. It has already filled Jakkur Lake, Horamavu Agara Lake, Doddabommasandra Lake, Kengeri Lake, Nagarabhavi Lake, Yelahanka Lake, Puttenahalli Lake, and a few others located near BWSSB’s wastewater treatment plants.
