Chennai Metro Rail Corporation has recently announced plans to resume the third line project from Madhavaram to State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), including Sholinganallur to Siruseri stretch. Of the total 118.9 km Chennai Metro phase II project, this phase spans 45.4 km. Presently, tunnelling operations are underway at Madhavaram Dairy and Sethupet. Besides, mining machines are being utilised.
