Five construction firms in Bangalore have bagged the contract for white-topping a total of 134 roads in the city at an estimated cost of Rs 16 billion. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has completed the tender formalities of the work. A part of the project cost is funded by the state government and the BBMP will fund the rest. Additionally, BBMP will be spending about Rs 0.11 billion for white-topping a km of road which includes a mix of many lanes, along with re-development of footpaths.
