Mumbai Coastal Road soon to be connected with Sea Link

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is set to launch the final girder of the 136-metre-long bow-string bridge, in order to connect the gap between the southbound arm of the road and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

Spanning 850 meters, the linkage between the coastal road’s Worli terminus and the sea link primarily consists of 270 meters of steel and the remainder concrete. This pre-fabricated structure is being meticulously manoeuvred into place via barges, anchored at the Worli worksite on the Arabian Sea. Post-girder launch, the focus will shift to asphalt road construction, aiming for full road operationality by end-May.
