Construction work for the Calicut (Kozhikode) additional runway-end safety area (RESA) project (Runway 10-28) is likely to commence by end-August 2024. The project involves the development of the RESA in continuation of the existing RESA of 90m x 90m, to make a total RESA of 240m x 90m on either end of the Runway 10-28 with the required strength and slope as per the Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) in Kerala, at an estimated cost of Rs 8 billion.
