Around 2,000 households under SMC soon to be provided with sewerage connections

Around 2,000 households in the recently merged areas of the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) will soon be provided with sewerage connections. For this, the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam will be installing about 20 km sewerage pipeline across the town at a cost of around Rs 100 million. This line will enable sewerage connectivity to the left-out areas. As a part of this project, various areas of Kanganadhar, Panthaghati, New Shimla, Mehli and Mashobra will be provided with connections. Moreover, households in the Totu and Majiath wards will also be provided with sewerage connections. The residents of these wards were facing huge inconvenience due to lack of sewerage connectivity.
