Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has recently achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest-ever throughput of 6.43 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) during FY24, an increase of 6.27 per cent as compared to the previous fiscal. The port witnessed a throughput of 6.05 million TEUs during FY23. Overall, JNPA handled 85.82 million tonnes (mt) of total traffic during FY24, growth of 2.33 per cent as compared to the previous FY23 (83.36 mt). At present, JNPA operates five container terminals. Also, the port has a shallow water berth for general cargo, another liquid cargo terminal and a recently constructed coastal berth.
