India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) has operationalised its first greenfield project, Kallam Transmission Limited (KTL) in Beed, Maharashtra. The project has been secured through tariff-based competitive bidding in December 2021 and will be developed on a build-own-operate-maintain basis for 35 years. KTL comprises a 2 x 500 MVA capacity substation with 400/220 kV voltages and 10 bays featuring a loop in loop out multicircuit line spanning 18 km. The project will facilitate the evacuation of 1 GW of power from renewable energy projects in Dharashiv, Maharashtra.
