Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) is planning to set up oil to chemical project at Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu entailing an investment of over Rs 8,342 billion (USD10 billion). Besides, it is likely to achieve financial closure by December 2024. The plant will have the capacity to produce 3.5 mtpa ethylene and propylene and is likely to be constructed by 2028-29.
