Visakhapatnam airport runway completed

The Visakhapatnam airport has witnessed early completion of the resurfacing of the main runway. The project was aimed at enhancing the airfield efficiency and safety. The runway, extending 10,000 feet can accommodate wide-bodied aircraft, and has been in service for more than 15 years, hence necessitating the upgrade. As per the Headquarters Eastern Naval Command (HQENC), round-the-clock operations of the runway will resume starting from April 1, 2024.
