Operations at expanded T1 under Delhi Airport Expansion to commence by May

Commercial operations at the expanded terminal, T1 under the Delhi Airport expansion project are likely to commence by May 2024. Additionally, T4 is likely to be commissioned by 2028-29. With this, the total capacity would increase to 140 million passengers per annum (mppa). The project involves the expansion of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi in order to handle the increased air traffic movement at the airport. It includes the expansion and construction of passenger terminal facilities such as the expansion of terminals T-1 (40 mppa), T-2 (15 mppa), and T-3 (45 mppa) and the construction of T-4, expansion of landside facilities, airside facilities such as runway, air traffic controller (ATC) tower, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and other aeronautical facilities, ground handling facilities, cargo facilities, parking bays, and other miscellaneous works.
