The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued the Maa Mahamaya Airport Darima, Ambikapur a licence for the commencement of flight operations. The airport has acquired the 3-C VFR category licence, permitting the operation of 72-seater aircraft. Operations are expected to commence to Raipur, Bilaspur, Lucknow, Patna, and Ranchi. This takes the number of licenced airports in Chhattisgarh under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) to three, the other two being Bilaspur and Jagdalpur.
