The union cabinet approved Corridor 2 (Inderlok-Indraprastha) and Corridor 6 (Lajpat Nagar-Saket, G Block) of the Delhi Metro Project Phase IV on March 13, 2024. Corridor 2 will have 10 stations with 12.37 km (11.349 km underground and 1.028 km elevated). Corridor 6 will have eight stations with 8.38 km (entirely elevated). Eight new interchange stations are planned under these corridors at Inderlok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Lajpat Nagar, Chirag Dilli and Saket, G Block. Besides, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has commenced pre-bid activities and preparation of tender documents for the same. Corridor 2 and Corridor 6 are likely to entail an investment of Rs 83.99 billion, which is likely to be jointly funded by the central government, the Delhi government and other funding agencies.
