Sagar Aankalan guidelines launched for national benchmarking of Indian port performance index

The union minister for ports, shipping and waterways has notified the “Sagar Aankalan” guidelines for the national benchmarking of the Indian port performance index. The guidelines aim to achieve the map and benchmark Indian ports’ logistics performance and efficiency; harmonise standards, definitions and performance with global benchmarks; and improve competitiveness, efficiency and overall performance of the port sector, with a focus on improving, productivity, sustainability and customer satisfaction.
