DP World has launched a multimodal rail freight service named SARAL-2 in collaboration with Avana Logistek between Chennai and the National Capital Region (NCR). It is a one-of-a-kind first multimodal daily rail freight service, with an overall capacity of 500 TEUD per week. It incorporates coastal, rail and truck operations for lower carbon dioxide emissions and improved supply chain operations. Earlier, in November 2023, the company had launched a dedicated scheduled rail freight service named Sustainable, Assured, Reliable and Agile Logistics (SARAL), which connects the region of south Gujarat and NCR.
