Centre launches 10 new Vande Bharat trains on several routes

The government has launched 10 new Vande Bharat trains on various routes. These are Lucknow-Dehradun, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Patna-Lucknow, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Kalaburagi-Bengaluru, Mysuru-Chennai, Khajuraho-Delhi, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and Ranchi-Varanasi. Further, it commenced the extension of four existing Vande Bharat services, Ajmer-Delhi extended to Chandigarh, Gorakhpur-Lucknow extended to Prayagraj, Ahmedabad-Jamnagar extended to Dwarka and Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod extended till Mangaluru. Besides, the car body structure of the Vande Bharat sleeper transit project was launched. It is being built by Bharat Earth Movers Limited with enhanced passenger facilities such as sensor lighting and intercommunication doors based on sensors, among others. The first prototype of this train will have a total of 11 coaches of AC 3-tier, four coaches of AC 2-tier and one coach of AC 1-tier.
