Centre inaugurates Gati Shakti terminal facility in Andhra Pradesh

The government has inaugurated the Gati Shakti terminal project of Ramco Cement in Andhra Pradesh. It will facilitate the transportation of crushed limestone from Ramco Cement mines in Budawada, by rail wagons, using electric locomotives. The limestone is delivered to the company’s integrated cement facility at Jayanthipuram, Jaggaiahpet mandal, NTR district. The total distance covered by the wagons will be 8.3 km, including 4.9 km on the South Central main railway line connecting Mellacheruvu to Jaggaiahpet stations and 3.4 km on dedicated sidings established by the company. Besides, a redeveloped goods shed facility at Penukonda and a Gati Shakti multimodal cargo terminal at Doddaballapur were inaugurated in South Western Railway zone.
