Centre grants approval for land acquisition under Bilasa Airport Expansion Project

The central government has granted working approval for land acquisition to the Chhattisgarh government for 286.65 acres of land under the Bilasa airport expansion project for Rs 704.92 million. Additionally, civil works related to night landing are likely to be completed soon. The project involves expansion works at Bilasa airport in Chattisgarh in two phases. Phase I includes the construction of a new terminal building and the upgradation of the airport to meet 3C instrument flight rules (IFR) requirements on the existing runway dimensions. This is aimed at facilitating flight operations during low visibility conditions, including night operations. Phase II A involves the upgradation of the airport to meet 4C IFR requirements for facilitating Airbus 320/321 and Boeing 737 operations.
