MRPL receives first crude delivery from KG-DWN-98/2 (KG-D5) block

In a notable development, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has received the first delivery of crude oil from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited’s cluster-II fields of the KG-DWN-98/2 (KG-D5) block. The crude transported by tanker, Swarna Sindhu, will undergo conversion into a range of fuels and petrochemical products at Mangaluru. Earlier, the union government has flagged off the crude oil tanker. The KG-DWN-98/2 block is located in the Krishna-Godavari basin in Andhra Pradesh with an area of 9,800 square km. The block has three discoveries, namely, Cluster 1, 2 and 3. It entails an investment of over Rs 410 billion.
