Five firms win licenses eight GAs under 12 and 12A CGD bidding round

A total of five firms have won licenses for development of city gas distribution (CGD) networks in eight geographical areas (GA) under round 12 and 12A of CGD bidding. The successful bidders under round 12 include joint venture (JV) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL) for Arunachal Pradesh GA, Haryana City Gas for Meghalaya GA, BPCL for Jammu and Kashmir GA, Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited for Manipur GA, JV of HPCL and OIL for Nagaland GA, HPCL for Sikkim GA and BPCL for Ladakh GA, The bids for the same were invited by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in October 2023. Besides, Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited has won license for Mizoram GA. The bids for the same were invited by the PNGRB in November 2023. The anticipated investment for the 12th bidding round is around Rs 410 billion.
