The Union Government inaugurated various sections of Agra, Pune, Kolkata and Kochi Metro and Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) projects on March 6, 2024.These include: Howrah Maidan-Esplanade stretch of the Kolkata East-West Metro Project, Kavi Subhas-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch under Airport-Kavi Subhas (New Garia) Corridor and Taratala-Majerhat stretch under Joka-Esplanade corridor of the Kolkata Metro Expansion Project, Jama Masjid (Mankameshwar Mandir)-Taj East Gate stretch of the Agra Metro Rail Project-Phase I, Ruby Hall Clinic-Ramwadi stretch of the Pune Metro Rail Project – Phase I, S.N. Junction-Thripunithura section (Phase IB) of the Kochi Metro and Duhai-Modinagar (North) section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project.
