Tata and Air India sign MoU with Karnataka government

On February 19, 2024, Air India and Tata Advanced Systems signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government for investing Rs 23 billion on various projects. Air India has proposed a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility entailing an investment of Rs 13 billion. This is likely to lead to the addition of around 1,200 jobs. Tata Advanced Systems targets investing Rs 10.3 billion for three projects including a passenger-to-freight aircraft conversion facility of Rs 4.2 billion, a gun manufacturing facility of Rs 3.1 billion, and aerospace and defence research development of Rs 3 billion.
