Tamil Nadu government allocates Rs 120 billion for Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase-II

The Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) has allocated funds worth Rs 120 billion for Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase-II under the State Budget 2024-25. Poonamallee- Kodambakkam section is likely to commission by December 2025. Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase-II involves development of 118.9-km three metro corridors (Corridor III, IV and V) in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. It is mostly underground with elevated section confined to few short stretches and consists of 128 stations in total.
