NRL completes HDD works across Subansiri river under Numaligarh refinery expansion

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has completed installation of 26” outside diameter, 3.51 km pipeline across Subansiri river by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technique for Paradip- Numaligarh crude oil pipeline under the Numaligarh refinery expansion. Additionally, it is planning to complete HDD works across Ganga and Brahmaputra river by May 2024. Besides, the Paradip- Numaligarh pipeline is likely to commission by June 2025. The project involves capacity expansion of the Numaligarh refinery in Assam from 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 9 mtpa by setting up of a crude oil pipeline from Paradip port in Odisha to Numaligarh in Assam, and product pipeline from Numaligarh in Assam to Siliguri Marketing Terminal in West Bengal.
