Green hydrogen plant by BPCL soon at Cochin Airport

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is to reportedly set up a green hydrogen plant in the Cochin International Airport. It is to be the first airport in the country to set up a green hydrogen plant at an airport. The 1,000-kilowatt plant would be built and operated by BPCL. The initial output from the plant is to be directed towards the powering of vehicles at the airport. BPCL is to oversee the establishment of the integrated green hydrogen plant and a fuelling station, and provide technology and manage operations, while Cochin International Airport Limited is to provide the required land, water, and green energy resources. The airport was also the first in the world to be fully powered by solar energy.
