GAIL secures 0.63 mscmd CBM gas from SP (West)-CBM-2001/1 block

GAIL (India) Limited has secured 0.63 million standard cubic meters per day (mscmd) gas out of the total 0.9 mmscmd natural gas offered from the SP (West)-CBM-2001/1 block. Besides, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has won 0.14 mscmd gas. The bids for the same were invited by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) in January 2024. The buyers were asked to quote a premium they were willing to pay over and above 12.67 per cent of the dated Brent crude oil price. The gas will be available from April 1, 2024 for a period of one to two years. The delivery point is GGS 11, Burhar in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. The SP (West)-CBM-2001/1 block was awarded to RIL in July 2002.
