The West Bengal government inaugurated a water treatment plant (WTP) at Uttarpara-Kotrung in Hooghly, West Bengal, on February 13, 2024. The scope of work included the development of a WTP with a capacity of 55 million gallons per day on a design-build-operate basis to cater to a population of about 2 million people at a cost of Rs 17.6 billion.
