SECI declares winners of its 450,000 mt green hydrogen manufacturing auction

Results for the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI’s) auction to develop 450,000 mtpa of generation facilities for green hydrogen have been announced. The tender for the project was issued in July 2023, under Bucket I (with a capacity of 410,000 mtpa) and Bucket II (with a capacity of 40,000 mtpa). Bucket I includes technology-agnostic pathways and Bucket II comprises biomass-based pathways. At an average incentive of Rs 18.90 per kg, Rs 30 per kg and Rs 30 per kg, Reliance, Greenko and ACME respectively won a capacity of 90,000 mt each. Further, Welspun New Energy secured 20,000 mt for Rs 20 per kg, JSW Energy 6,500 mt for Rs 34.66 per kg, Hygenco 75,000 mt for Rs 25.04 per kg, and Torrent Power 18,000 mt for Rs 28.89 per kg. Moreover, at a zero-average incentive, Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Projects and UPL Limited won 10,500 mt and 10,000 mt respectively. Meanwhile, under Bucket II, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited won 2,000 mt for Rs 30 per kg.
