NDB signs loan agreement for financing Gujarat Rural Road Program

The New Development Bank has signed a loan agreement worth Rs 41.44 billion ($500 million) for the Gujarat Rural Road Programme. The project is being implemented under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Gujarat. It combines both investment and knowledge support to construct/improve approximately 13,500 km of rural roads and 650 bridges/structures in order to enhance road connectivity and network efficiency; introduce innovations, new technologies, and climate-resilient and safe road design; as strengthen the institutional effectiveness of the Roads and Buildings Department of the Gujarat government.
