Government approves Rs 240 billion for tribal solar electrification initiative

The central government has secured approval from the president to implement solar energy projects amounting to Rs 241.04 billion. These projects aim to provide electricity to 100,000 households belonging to particularly vulnerable tribal groups across 18 states. As outlined by the MNRE, the central government will contribute Rs 153.36 billion, while the states will chip in Rs 87.68 billion.
