Centre inaugurates link building at Bhubaneswar Airport

The central government inaugurated the link building connecting Terminal 1 (T1) and T2 at Bhubaneswar airport on February 6, 2024. The capacity is likely to increase to 4.6 million passengers per annum. The link building, along with two rotundas and aerobridges in T1, has been developed at an investment of Rs 872.1 million. The Bhubaneswar airport upgradation project involves the upgradation of the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, at an investment of Rs 2.89 billion. It includes the construction of a parallel taxiway, expansion of the runway from the existing length of 9,000 feet to 10,000 feet, and the construction of a new air traffic control tower along with improvements in the radars of the air navigation system. It also includes the renovation of the old terminals using new tools.
