Mumbai’s Gokhale Bridge first phase to open by February 2024

After ten months of reconstruction works initiated by the Bombay Municipal Cooperation (BMC) on Andheri’s Gokhale Bridge, a pivotal east-west connector in Mumbai, the concreting phase has been successfully completed.
The tentative schedule points towards the first phase opening by the end of February 2024, catering to light motor vehicles (LMVs). Subsequent phases involve girder launching, slated for April 2024. Remaining tasks encompass casting, painting, construction joint work, street lighting, direction boards, and testing. The absence of this vital connector has disrupted traffic multiple times since its closure. Residents express hope for the concurrent opening of the Telli Gully flyover, contingent on Gokhale Bridge accessibility, enhancing overall transportation flow.
