BMC proposes to construct new water conveyance tunnel from Kasheli to Mulund

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed to construct a new water conveyance tunnel from Kasheli in Thane to Mulund in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai. This project worth Rs 3.5 billion is announced in the interim budget 2024-25. It is aimed at strengthening the water supply network in Mumbai by providing an alternative to
the existing surface water pipelines. The water supply would also be connected to the Bhandup water treatment complex.
