MNRE introduces amended guidelines for implementation of PM-KUSUM scheme

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has introduced amended guidelines for the PM-KUSUM programme, replacing the prior memo and integrating subsequent amendments. The goal is to enable farmers to install 10,000 MW of solar power plants on their land within 5 km of substations to reduce costs. The guidelines outline financial incentives and procedures for the scheme’s execution to incorporate 34,800 MW solar capacity by March 2026, with central financial assistance of Rs 344.22 billion.
