The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has introduced a framework to encourage annual production of 200,000 metric tonnes of green hydrogen. Incentives will be awarded for 3 years to produce and deliver cost-effective green hydrogen to refineries. The incentives start at Rs 50 per kg in the first year, reducing to Rs 30 per kg in the third year. Eligible bidders must have a minimum net worth. Oil and gas companies and the Centre for High Technology will serve as implementing agencies. A committee headed by the MoPNG secretary will assess progress.
