PSPCL to acquire Goindwal Sahib power project

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is expected to acquire the Goindwal Sahib Power Project (Private) from GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Limited for an amount of Rs 14 billion. PSPCL emerged as the sole bidder for the project in July 2023. The Goindwal Sahib Power Project’s Units 1 and 2 of 270 MW each achieved commercial operations on April 6, 2016 and April 16, 2016 respectively. However, GVK could not commence operations due to the absence of coal linkage for the project.
