Malkangiri airport in Odisha was inaugurated on January 9, 2024. The airport is located at Katelguda and spans over a land area of more than 233 acres. The airport entailed a cost of around Rs 700 million and has a runway of 1,620 metre length and a width of 30 metres. The first phase is likely to witness the operations of a nine-seater aircraft. The number of operational airports in Odisha now stands at seven.
