During the April-November period of financial year 2024, the major Indian ports handled 534.86 million tonnes (mt) of cargo traffic, compared to 506.67 mt in the corresponding period of financial year 2023, registering an increase of 5.6 per cent. Port-wise, Paradip port handled the maximum cargo at 92.92 mt during the April-November period of financial year 2024 with a share of 17.4 per cent followed by Deendayal Port (16.4 per cent) and Jawaharlal Nehru Port (10.6 per cent).
