The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of a water treatment plant (WTP) in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0. The project aims to supply drinking water to all the households in Ayodhya through a pipeline. Under phase 1 of the project, water will be supplied to WTP from Saryu river. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.66 billion.
