Foundation stone laid for Nahan sewerage scheme in Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh government laid the foundation stone for the Nahan sewerage scheme on January 6, 2024. Under the project, the city has been divided into three zones. The project includes the construction of 2.29 million litres per day (mld) in Zone 1, 1.54 mld in Zone 2 and 0.63 mld in Zone 3. The capacity will be increased to 3.43 mld, 2.22 mld and 0.95 mld in zones 1, 2 and 3 respectively by 2041. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.44 million and it is being funded by the French Development Agency (Agence Francaise de Development).
