State plans to set up 10 greenfield ports in Gujarat

The government of Gujarat is planning to set up 10 greenfield ports in the state over 25 years. Reportedly, techno-feasibility studies have been launched to assess factors such as connectivity, land availability, draft (water depth required for ships to float) and other relevant aspects at these sites. The greenfield ports are proposed to be developed at Nargol in Valsad, Modhva in Kutch, Mithi Virdi in Bhavnagar, Positra in Dwarka, Dahej in Bharuch, Kuchdi in Porbandar, Sartanpar in Bhavnagar, Jakhau in Kutch, New Hazira in Surat and Chanch in Amreli.
