IR to procure 50 Amrit Bharat trains at an investment of Rs 20 billion

IR is likely to procure 50 Amrit Bharat trains with an investment of Rs 20 billion. The rail coaches will be manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Chennai and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) at Kapurthala. The manufacturing hub will be done at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) in West Bengal. These trains operate through push and pull mechanism which requires addition of the locomotives at both the ends of the train. This results into improved performance by higher acceleration for faster travel and improved braking system.
