IR completes electrification of 6,577 rkm routes during Jan-Dec 2023

Indian Railways (IR) has completed electrification of 6,577 route kilometres (rkm) during Jan-Dec 2023. Till December 2023, a total of 61,508 rkm of the broad gauge (BG) route has been electrified which is 93.83 per cent of the total 65,556 rkm of BG route. So far, a total of 14 states and union territories have achieved 100 per cent of electrification.
