The Assam State Cabinet granted administrative approval for the Guwahati sewerage project in Assam on January 7, 2024. The scope of the project involves construction of sewerage treatment plants (STPs) at Silsako Beel (65 mld), Borsola Beel (62 mld) and Paschim Boragaon (60 mld), 872 km of sewerage network and 1.19 km of network using trenchless methods. The estimated cost of the phase 1 is Rs 14.60 billion.
